YELLOW CARD


STAGE 1: Pupil has 5 warnings in a single lesson
  • Pupil will work in isolation* for the rest of the lesson
  • Teacher will explain clearly why they are being put out of class
  • Teacher and pupil will agree how pupil should behave next time
  • Fresh start next lesson
  • Teacher will start behaviour management file on pupil.
*Isolation may mean a quiet area in the department, in another ML class, in a friendly department or a DM call.

STAGE 2: Pupil has 5 warnings in a single lesson on a second occasion
  • As STAGE 1 +
  • Teacher will arrange break detention or issue a punishment exercise/ think sheet at the end of the lesson
  • Teacher will review classroom strategies used so far and consider what other strategies they might use.

STAGE 3: Pupil has 5 warnings in a single lesson on a third occasion
  • As STAGE 1 +
  • Teacher will send home Early Warning letter
  • Teacher will notify HoD via Stage 3 referral
  • HoD will issue ML target sheet for pupil

RED CARD


STAGE 4: Pupil has 5 warnings in a single lesson on a fourth occasion
  • As STAGE 1 +
  • Teacher will notify HoD via Stage 3 referral
  • HoD will contact parents to inform them about action being taken
  • HoD will organise half-hour detention for pupil
  • HOD will issue ML target sheet for pupil
